蜜蜂在農作物授粉上之重要性
- 全世界蜜蜂授粉產值每年2,120億美金。
- 美國：蜜蜂授粉的間接產值達蜂產品93倍。
- 臺灣：授粉間接年產值106億臺幣，蜂產品約13億（蜂蜜6.5億、蜂王乳6.5億）。

宜蘭大學：宜蘭大學的「蜜蜂與蜂產品研究室」是國內大學中唯一專門研究蜜蜂與蜂產品的研究室。
松山社區大學：首次在臺北市針對市民開設養蜂課程，並結合環保署氣候變遷環境教育推廣專案工作計畫及臺北市政府教育局小田園計畫，舉辦「城市養蜂與環境教育」體驗活動和「城市養蜂與田園城市」課程，此外不定期辦理講座，推廣城市養蜂。

摘自韋許農場：看了養蜂的書＜基礎養蜂學張世揚 1986＞裡面有寫到霍香薊是蜜蜂的粉源，正想要去哪裡採種子來試試看，就在社大的園圃發現蹤跡，族群不多、應該是去年隨著淹水帶進來的種子。不過今天再到園區靜靜觀察，野蜂只青睞大花咸豐草、沒有降落在霍香薊的花上，也許霍香薊在蜜蜂的採粉榜上是吊車尾選項XD。再觀察看看，很有可能是目前其他蔬菜的花（很多十字花科）正在盛開。下次也要來練習看看蜂巢的位置在哪裡。基礎養蜂學張世揚 1986

技術說明與經驗分享

跟據NASA在美國馬里蘭州數十年的監測結果，發現2009年的流蜜期高峰已較1970年代提早了約1個月，這個變化促使依賴植物花蜜為食的蜜蜂亦產生行為序改變，使得蜂群提早達到它的族群高峰。若植物與授粉者的關係受到暖化或極端天候的影響，使得蜜蜂群勢減弱，或者因為植物資源缺乏，不足以提供蜂群食物所需，便可能造成授粉者對植物授粉服務功能的弱化，因而影響農業糧食安全，危及生態系中植物與授粉者角色的存續。

城市養蜂，酷！
- 報導臺北市松山社區大學開設的養蜂課程，從民眾的回饋與分享中，深刻感受到民眾從對蜜蜂感到陌生、害怕，到放下心防，並期待持續推動相關活動及課程，顯示實務課程對食農議題的推動有實質的助益。

嗡嗡嗡松山社大開養蜂班
- 2014年臺北市松山社區大學率先於臺北市針對市民開設養蜂課程，由江敬晧、蔡明憲老師授課。學員來自各界，有都市農耕支持者、作家、攝影師、結構師，也有聽障人士，甚至有學員遠從高雄每週搭車北上參與課程。課程中教導學員蜜蜂生態行為，並傳授蜂王乳生產方式、蜂蜜品質鑑別、花粉採收方法，以及蜜蜂授粉的重要性，並與環保署氣候變遷環境教育推廣專案工作計畫結合，推動養蜂與都市農耕、食農教育、互利共生的環保理念，受到學員熱烈回響。
「臺北共轉計畫」都市農學工作坊
- 城市養蜂的困難其中最需克服的就是鄰里間的擔心。不過反過來說，這也正是社區營造一直一來深耕的部分，不論是都市農耕「分享」的概念或是走進老街巷弄、談過往歷史「凝聚」地方感的故事，其實都是在和周遭的人們建立關係。有了信任關係，大家也就會更加願意瞭解蜜蜂的生態，而這又能在加強推動都市養蜂真正的目的--環境教育。蔡老師說，希望能藉由都市養蜂讓更多小孩認識到城市之外的生態世界；我們懼怕蜜蜂是因為不了解牠們，然而不該因為這種恐懼而放棄理解。唯有認識、親手觸摸，我們才能真正了解自己活著的土地，去愛這片大自然。從這樣微小的動機出發，孩子們才會有勇氣，面對生命中會遇到的一切難題。藉由理解來克服未知恐懼，這才是教育應該有的面貌。
不要只想著蜂蜜，更要關心蜜蜂
城市養蜂興起，市民該補充那些知識
- 殺蟲劑不但殺不死標的害蟲，反而為害蟲清除了天敵，並選汰出抗藥性品系害蟲的不良後果。害蟲的天敵通常需要較多樣化的棲息環境或食物資源，所以種植單一作物、連續耕作而無休耕期使得害蟲數量持續增加。松山社大推動的城市養蜂課程，不但教導民眾正確的蜜蜂知識，也教導蜂類多樣性、蜂類授粉與生物防治的重要。
學作蜂蜜皂--養蜂兼美容
- 松山社區大學城市養蜂結合手工皂課程，開發蜂蜜相關的文創商品，期能以具體行動，在環境關懷中帶動產業創新。

- 松山社區大學獻木松山公益修繕社的黃俊修老師是目前全臺灣唯一教授蜂箱製作的老師，在老師的支持下，城市養蜂的發展不只是採收蜂蜜，還有木工技藝的傳承。

臺灣城市養蜂極待克服的問題

飼養場地

火災
民眾對蜜蜂生態行為認知不足，造成飼養場地取得不易。透過實務操作可改善民眾對蜜蜂的誤解。
- 討論：

關於「飼養場地」是否有一套評估方式，特別是針對該都市場地的社會觀感面向來評估？
目前所知暫無相關研究案例或評估方式，基於多數民眾對蜜蜂行為所知有限所造成的排斥，議題的推動最直接也最有效的做法是實務操作，才能讓改變觀念。
初步看來，陽台、屋頂可能是推廣城市養蜂的理想地點。

全球城市養蜂案例

組織與網絡

聯合國環境署（United Nations Environment Program, UNEP）2011年3月10日於瑞士日內瓦發表全球蜜蜂現狀的研究報告，蜜蜂的銳減將威脅糧食生產。2006年末至2007年初，美國蜂群的減少幅度突然增快，此後城市養蜂在全球隨之興起，藉由重建城市生態綠網，挽救蜜蜂消失所帶來的嚴重後果。

      - 2. Maximum Number of Hives.
        (a) The maximum number of Hives on any given Lot or roof for personal consumption of Honey Bee products shall be two (2).
      - 3. Maximum Height and Size.
        (a) No Hive shall exceed five (5) feet in height and twenty (20) cubic feet in size on any Lot or roof.
      - 4. Specific Ground Level Beekeeping Requirements.
        (a) Setbacks.
        i. Where there is a wall, fence or similar barrier between the subject property and adjacent property, no setback from the property line is required. Where there is no wall, fence or similar barrier between subject property and adjacent property, Hives shall be set back five (5) feet from the property line.
        
        ii. Hives shall not be located in the front yard or in a side yard that abuts a street in all residential and commercial Districts and Subdistricts. iii. No Hive shall be located closer than ten (10) feet from a public sidewalk.
        
        (b) Hive Placement and Flyways.
        i. For any ground level Hive that is within twenty (20) feet of the doors and/or windows of the principal building on an abutting Lot, either of the following conditions must exist:
        a. The Hive opening must face away from doors and/or windows; or
        
        b. A flyway of at least six (6) feet in height comprising of a lattice fence, dense hedge or similar barrier must be established in front of the opening of the Hive such that the Honey Bees fly upward and away from neighboring properties. The flyway shall be located within three (3) feet of the entrance to the Hive and shall extend at least two (2) feet in width on either side of the Hive opening.
      - 5. Specific Rooftop Beekeeping Requirements.
        (a) Setbacks.
        i. Hives shall be set back six (6) feet from the edge of the roof.
        
        (b) Hive Placement and Flyways.
        i. For any roof level Hive that is within twenty (20) feet of the doors and/or windows of the principal building on an abutting Lot, either of the following conditions must exist:
        a. The Hive opening must face away from doors and/or windows; or
        
        b. A flyway of at least six (6) feet in height comprising of a lattice fence, dense hedge or similar barrier must be established in front of the opening of the Hive such that the Honey Bees fly upward and away from neighboring properties.
